We caught up with Richard Harrington ahead of the release of Ste Essence's "My One Temptation ft Sheena Mchugh". Richard Harringstons Remix, part of the remix package for this forthcoming release delivers an ultra cool, deep and moody tech house take on this track.
First of all, congratulations on the track. How does that feel? You must be excited.
Thank you very much. I was thrilled to be asked to come onboard for this project & do a remix for the release. I really tried to put my own twist on it & it's 100% made for the dance floor. I actually road tested it for the first time last weekend at EGG LDN & without being biased it got the best reaction of my set.
Tell us a bit about you.
I'm a full time sound engineer & club promotor from London & have DJ'd all over the world for the past 20 years.
What other projects you have going on at the moment?
Released this week was a track of mine called Over U on Jango Music. This is currently climbing the Beatport Top 100 & this track really helped to get me noticed with Defected & Perfecto. I've been speaking to both labels quite a bit the past few months. I have an EP coming out soon on the Hoxton Whores – Whore House label. The lead track is a disco influenced house number with my studio partner Beat On & is already getting people talking. I also dabble in some techno & have a track called You & Me (also with Beat On) coming out in a couple of weeks on Ying Yang Anthems 10. I will be Djing at Gigalum for their weekly Sunday Sessions on 14th May along with Tuff London & Phutek
If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?
Mmmmm… I have a thing for big cats… so maybe a Black Panther
What was the last thing your watched on TV and why did you watch it?
I don’t watch much TV really, but last night I made a start on Season 5 or Prison Break.
Favorite track of the moment for you past or present?
It's been out for a couple of months now but I never tire of playing it....Kiki Doll – I Show You Love (Luca Debonaire Remix) - Whore House
Anything else you want to say? Any shouts?
Just thank you to all the labels I've got to work with the past year or so & a big thank you to the guys at Fidget Music.
